Weddings - now most commonly found on any day that ends in “y!” The weekday wedding trend started a few years ago and has picked up like crazy ever since the coronavirus pandemic. As we all know, Covid-19 has created entirely new norms and we aren’t mad about Thursday weddings being one of them!

The Perfect Long Weekend... And A Chance To Play Hooky!

First things first. You’re giving your guests the perfect opportunity for a four-day weekend! Who wouldn’t say yes?! This may be your first hesitation before snagging that Thursday within your dream wedding month but times are changing with our flexible work schedules and the ability to work on the go!


“All we heard from our guests was how excited they were to get out of town and have an excuse for a long weekend,” says one of our past brides - Heather Neagle.


A Thursday wedding also ended up being music to guests ears for Catherine Andrews - another past bride of ours! She shared,


“With so many people from out of town it gave them an opportunity to have an absolute party starting at the Wednesday rehearsal dinner all the way through the weekend.”

After booking that florist or photographer you have been fangirling over on instagram for the past two years you’ll realize Thursday weddings are kindaaaa a win-win. “We were a bit overwhelmed at that point in the day by numbers and different visions, so when she mentioned her price I saw the perfect opportunity,” says Heather. Extended Time With Loved Ones!

A full weekend ahead of you with your loved ones… without a single thing on your wedding to-do list! That’s right - no more last minute wedding emails or stress about your guests and the weather! It can be challenging to stay present on your wedding day but with all the big things behind you, we’ve found that our couples have cherished these extra few days with their loved ones! While Saturday and Sunday weddings have your loved ones rushing to the airport hours after your celebration, a Thursday wedding allows for an entire weekend with those you don’t get to see often! 


“A lot of them made plans for the weekend, and since our wedding was Thursday night they still had the whole weekend to have fun! Most of the parents took advantage of a get away and got a babysitter and kicked back,” says Heather. 


Catherine’s guests were also a huge fan of these few extra days as they took the time to enjoy a Friday brunch, a relaxing Saturday afternoon and then “leisurely get home when it was convenient for them, rather than drive home Sunday with a hangover to work the next day!” 


So… a Thursday wedding means an extended celebration andddd an extra day or two to party?!!

Flights & Accommodations

If you are hosting a wedding with a big group coming in from out of town, then they’ll be happy to hear about this one! Air travel, uber chargers, hotel fees - all at a fraction of the cost! Travel and hotel accommodations can be drastically cheaper during the week and are much easier for you and your guests to find! This can become a main point of stress for brides and planners when hosting large groups for Saturday and Sunday weddings and a big reason why our past brides have loved their weekday wedding! So, we don’t know about you but the ease and savings that this provides throughout the planning process seems like a win-win to us!
